Simon is one of Mountain View Mission's sponsored children. His story is one of perseverance and God's providence.
Simon stepped in to care for his younger siblings when the parents of the family passed away. Over the years, we have been able to support his younger siblings in primary and secondary school and we have seen the family flourish.
Due to the responsibilities of caring for his family, Simon had to postpone his dream to become a chef. However, the Lord has faithfully given him opportunities to use his gifts for the Mountain View Missions program. MVM has helped Simon complete a Hospitality program and has employed Simon many times to cook for our mission teams and our sponsorship families. In 2020, Simon’s family lost everything in a house fire. Thanks to our faithful donors, we were able to get them relocated to a new home and cover rental costs for the family.
Below is a letter that Simon recently sent to MVM:
First and foremost receive many greetings in Christ Jesus name. I am Simon. I was one of the first children admitted into the Mountain View Missions Sponsorship Program. I am writing to express my gratitude to the program. I thank my sponsor family for the support of my family: Joseph, Peter, and Olivia. Thank you and God Bless. Through Mountain View Missions I was able to do a course in Hospitality. This course has helped me in my work and family. Since graduation, I have been discipling others and evangelizing in my village. I have decided to join Bible School at Kenya Baptist Theological College.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20
God Bless,
Simon
We are rejoicing in God's perfect plan for Simon. Please pray that he will continue to follow God's plan and pursue his dream of being a chef.
